Read More	Charles was the son of William Malony and Honoria Barrow. Jefferson Souvenir - Saturday, March 19, 1898 - Died March 12, 1898 at North Platte, Nebraska, Charles F. Maloney, age 21 years, 3 months, 5 days. To the surprise of his friends, and they were legions, the sad news reached here that our lamented friend had passed to peaceful rest after a patient and manly struggle with that grim destroyer Death. The great Angel whose duty it seems to be to select the fairest of mortals marked this boy for her own more than a year ago but not till on Saturday night at 8 o'clock did she sound the final summons "Come home with me dear Charley and be at rest" and the welcome was assured, for he had many times expressed his willingness to go. Charley Maloney was born in Greene county, grew to manhood here and was loved by all who knew him, was a genial kind hearted boy a favorite with his teachers and greatly admired by his schoolmates. Long will they cherish his memory. His health had always been good until last spring when he was seized with what his friends thought was malaria which later developed into lung trouble. A change of climate seemed desirable and accompanied by his brother George they journeyed to Denver but not finding it beneficial there they returned to North Platte, where for a time he seemed to gain. His family moved there to have their dear boy at home but found the gain was only temporary and he gradually grew worse till death came as a relief from his great suffering. The remains arrived over the Northwestern on Monday morning and were met by a large number of friends and relatives who conveyed them to the Catholic church and when the impressive funeral services at which Rev. Father O'Farrell officiated were ended, the funeral procession formed and wended its way to the Willow cemetery where all that was mortal of our friend was sorrowfully laid to rest. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the family in their great sorrow.
