He is buried in Rochester Cemetery, Rochester, Cedar County, Iowa. find a grave58416395 Iowa Cemetery Records Obituary The Tipton Advertiser Aug 16 1928 pg 5 Col 5 & 6 Charles Franklyn Stiff, of Sheffield, Alabama, was born in Mead County, Kentucky, March 17, 1873, and passed away at the hospital in Davenport, Wednesday, August 1, 1928, after a lingering illness of several years. For many years Mr. Stiff was active in real estate business at Kansas City, Mo., retiring from it a few years ago on account of ill health. He has made his home at Sheffield, Ala., for the last three years and was visiting relatives in the Tipton vicinity when stricken with the fatal illness. He was married to Miss Margaret Stokes of Kansas City, Mo., June 19, 1924 who with his father J.C. Stiff, three sisters and five brothers, survive. the sisters are Mrs. Kate Christian, of Tipton, Mrs. Annie Sheldon, of Wichita, Kans., and Mrs. Ada Finefield, of Davenport, Iowa. The brothers are J.W. of Rochester, Emmett of Boise, Idaho, Henry of East Peoria, Ill., Dick of Cordova, Ill., and Otto of Davenport. He was a member of the Gates City Lodge No. 522 A. F. & A. M., Skekinah Council and Order of Eastern Star. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Masonic temple in Davenport in charge of the Davenport lodge. The body was brought to Rochester and burial took place in the Rochester cemetery with the Rev. A. W. Straub in charge.
