Description	:	Charles Fredrick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kness, was born May 5, 1914, while the family was living on a farm east of Fairmont. He attended the country school and finished the eighth grade. Ten years ago the family moved to town. At that time, Charles went to work for Orvil Galusha, in whose employment he continued for more than a year and one half. Since that time, he has been employed at various activities. Read More	Charles Fredrick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kness, was born May 5, 1914, while the family was living on a farm east of Fairmont. He attended the country school and finished the eighth grade. Ten years ago the family moved to town. At that time, Charles went to work for Orvil Galusha, in whose employment he continued for more than a year and one half. Since that time, he has been employed at various activities. When an infant, he was baptized by Rev. W.B. Kline, minister of the Fairmont Congregational Church. Charles was in very poor health for the past five months. On March 25th he was taken to an Omaha hospital, where he passed away at 7:30 o'clock Tuesday evening, March 28, at the age of 24 years, 10 months and 23 days. He leaves to mourn his passing, his parents; three sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Knox of Fairmont, Mrs. Lucy McDonald and Mrs. Louise Clark, both of Geneva; a brother, Ralph of Fairmont; many other relatives and a host of friends. The funeral service was held at the Federated Church Friday afternoon, Rev. Isaac Cassel, the minister, officiating. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Mamie Kemp, Miss Mildred Starks, W.E. Black and Wayne Malsbary. They sang two numbers, "Going Down the Valley" and "Sometime We will Understand." Wayne Malsbary also sang a solo, "Some Sweet Day." Marjorie Starks was the organist. The flower committee of the church had charge of the flowers. The pallbearers were Francis and Raymond McMahon, Raymond Joy, Cecil Davis, Harold Parker and Lyman Bridgman. Burial was made in the Fairmont Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal April 6th, 1939 page 3.
