Description	:	Another Marshall county pioneer has passed away in the person of Charles F Walker, long time a prominent and successful farmer southeast of State Centre. He died last Thursday, August 22nd, aged 67 years 4 days, having been born August 18th, 1834. The funeral was held at his late home near Rhodes last Sunday and was largely attended. He died last Thursday, August 22nd, aged 67 years 4 days, having been born August 18th, 1834. The funeral was held at his late home near Rhodes last Sunday and was largely attended. Mr Walker had been a great sufferer for many years from rheumatism and for a long time prior to his death was practically helpless. He will be remembered as an original and somewhat eccentric individual but withal a kind hearted man and a good citizen, and enjoyed the respect of his large acquaintance. August 29, 1901 State Center Enterprise. Charles Frederick Walker was born Aug 1834 in Pennsylvania. He married Mary Jane Thomas about 1866, and had 14 children, only seven were living in 1900, and six in 1918. The children include Lester Isaac, born 1867, Millie A. born 1869, Alice M. (Mrs. Seth Smith) born 1871, Charles W. (1874), Luna or Lulu (1877 - all born in Ill.), Frederick born May 1882 (IA). Milton, (Aug 1880 IA) who was institutionalized at Glenwood as of 1900 (although in 1915 he was in Marshalltown before going back to Glenwood). It would appear he died during the 1920?s. The family moved to Iowa before the 1880 census was taken. Millie preceded her mother, all the others died as infants, including Aldie Blanche and Laura S.
