Description	:	DEATH AT RHODES Mrs. Sarah (sic) Jane Walker Passes Away of Cancer Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Jane Walker, who died at her home in Rhodes Friday, were held from the Methodist Protestant church in Rhodes Sunday afternoon. Burial followed in the Dunker (sic) cemetery four miles south of State Center. Mrs. Walker, who was the widow of Charles F. Burial followed in the Dunker (sic) cemetery four miles south of State Center. Mrs. Walker, who was the widow of Charles F. Walker, who died seventeen years ago, had been a resident of the county about forty years. Most of this time has been spent near Melbourne and Rhodes. Mrs. Walker had made her home in Rhodes for the past twelve years. She was a native of Pennsylvania. Surviving Mrs. Walker are six children. They are Lester Walker of State Center; Charles and Fred Walker and Mrs. A. F. (Lulu) Pike of Rhodes; Milton Walker of Glenwood; and Mrs. Seth Smith of Koshkonong, Mo. The 1880, 1900 and 1910 Iowa census refer to her as Mary J. She married Charles about 1866, and had 14 children, only seven were living in 1900, and six in 1918. The children include Lester Isaac, born 1867, Millie A. born 1869, Alice M. (Mrs. Seth Smith), (1871), Charles W. (1874), Luna or Lulu (1877 - all born in Ill.), Frederick born May 1882 (Ia). Milton, (Aug 1880 Ia) who was institutionalized at Glenwood as of 1900 (although in 1915 he was in Marshalltown before going back to Glenwood). It would appear he died during the 1920's. The family moved to Iowa before the 1880 census was taken. Millie preceded her mother, all the others died as infants, including Aldie Blanche and Laura S..
