Description	:	Charles Gilmer "Gil" Ledford, 74, of Franklin, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, in a local hospital. He was a native of Macon County, the son of the late Rev. Claude M. and Effie Byrd Ledford. He was a construction worker, and enjoyed fishing, and loved animals. He was Baptist by faith. Read More	Charles Gilmer "Gil" Ledford, 74, of Franklin, died Saturday, May 30, 2009, in a local hospital. He was a native of Macon County, the son of the late Rev. Claude M. and Effie Byrd Ledford. He was a construction worker, and enjoyed fishing, and loved animals. He was Baptist by faith. He is survived by six sisters, Debbie Dicero of Jupitor, Fla., Faye McCall and husband Charles of Franklin, Kay Guy and husband Bob of Franklin, Carole Aiello and husband Roland of Kirkland, Wash., Kathy Henson and husband Charlie of Franklin, Glenda Evans and husband Jerry of Franklin; two brothers, Wilbur Ledford and wife Linda of Danielsonville, Ga., and William Dugan Ledford of Franklin; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Talmadge Lee Ledford. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, with the Rev John Raby officiating. Burial was in Prentiss Baptist Church Cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers. The family received friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prentiss Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Faye Wilson, 605 Middle Skeenah Rd., Franklin, NC 28734.
