Description	:	Effie Ella Ledford, 84, of Franklin, died Friday, Jan. 2, in a local hospital. She was a native of Macon County, the daughter of the late Charlie and Lula Hodgins Byrd. She was married to the late Rev. Claude Ledford, who died in 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of Prentiss Baptist Church. She is survived by six daughter, Deborah Gay Dicero of Tequesta, Fla., Martha Fay McCall, Lula Kay Guy and Glenda Maria Evans, all of Franklin, Carolyn Mae Fisner of Phoenix, Ariz., and Cathy Lynn Henson of Walhalla, S.C.,; three sons, Charles Gilmer Ledford... Read More	Effie Ella Ledford, 84, of Franklin, died Friday, Jan. 2, in a local hospital. She was a native of Macon County, the daughter of the late Charlie and Lula Hodgins Byrd. She was married to the late Rev. Claude Ledford, who died in 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of Prentiss Baptist Church. She is survived by six daughter, Deborah Gay Dicero of Tequesta, Fla., Martha Fay McCall, Lula Kay Guy and Glenda Maria Evans, all of Franklin, Carolyn Mae Fisner of Phoenix, Ariz., and Cathy Lynn Henson of Walhalla, S.C.,; three sons, Charles Gilmer Ledford and William Davis Ledford, both of Franklin, and Claude Wilbur Ledford of Danielsville, Ga.; one brother, John Byrd of Sedro Wooley, Wash.; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preced in death by a son, Talmadge Lee Ledford, who died in 1949. Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 4, in the chapel of Bryant Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Stillwell, Rev. Brian Holland and Rev. Steve Reeves officiating. Burial was in the Prentiss Baptist Church Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers, and the deacons of Prentiss Baptist Church were honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Prentiss Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Faye Wilson, 224 Middle Skeenah Rd., Franklin. Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
