Description	:	Rev. Claude Monroe Ledford, 87, of 1166 Belle Dowdle Rd., died Saturday, Oct. 29, in a Franklin Nursing Home. He was a native of Macon County, and the son of the late Miller and Lula Stanfield Ledford. He worked as a carpenter. He was a retired Baptist minister and has pastored churches in Macon and Rabun counties for more than 60 years. He was a member of Prentiss Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Effie Byrd Ledford of the home; six daughter, Glenda Evans, Kay Guy and Faye McCall, all of Franklin; Kathy Henson of Wallahalla, S.C., Debbie Dicero of Juniper, Fla., and Carol Eisner of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three sons, Wilbur Ledford of Danielsville, Ga., and Gilmer Ledford and Davis Ledford, both of Franklin; three sisters, Lillian Cowart, Alva Carpenter and Queen Shope, all of Franklin; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one son, Talmadge Ledford; two sisters, Edna McConnell and Vernie Sanders; and two brothers, Lake Ledford and Elsworth Ledford. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 30, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Bryant Funeral Homewith Rev. Tommy Holden and Rev. Forman Bradley officiating.
