Description	:	Charles Grant Brady,cashier of the Akron Savings Bank at Akron,Iowa,was a native of Wisconson,and came to Akron,Iowa at the age 13.He was born on a farm in Green County,Wisconson,Jan.12,1869,the son of John H. & Kate H.(Reed)Brady,natives of Pennsylvania.They moved to Iowa in 1882 and located at Akron.Charles spent his early childhood in Wisconson,receiving his elementary schooling there.He was about thirteen years of age when moved to Akron were he completed highschool at Akron High School.As a young man he engaged in the restaurant business ar Akron in partnership with C.M.Hilliker,later buying out his partnership and continuing in that business for... Read More	Charles Grant Brady,cashier of the Akron Savings Bank at Akron,Iowa,was a native of Wisconson,and came to Akron,Iowa at the age 13.He was born on a farm in Green County,Wisconson,Jan.12,1869,the son of John H. & Kate H.(Reed)Brady,natives of Pennsylvania.They moved to Iowa in 1882 and located at Akron.Charles spent his early childhood in Wisconson,receiving his elementary schooling there.He was about thirteen years of age when moved to Akron were he completed highschool at Akron High School.As a young man he engaged in the restaurant business ar Akron in partnership with C.M.Hilliker,later buying out his partnership and continuing in that business for about two years.He formed a business connection,under the firm name Ross,Wakeman & Brady,and engaged in the sales of lumber and agricultural implements at Akron.The firm also bought and sold livestock.In 1891,he disposed of his interests there and went to Edgerton,Pipestone,Minnesota,where he started a new bank,the Bank of Edgerton.He was there for ten years as cashier and manager of the Bank and also the manager of a lumberyard,In 1901 Mr.Brady disposed of his interests at Edgerton and returned to Akron,where he bought an interest in the Akron Savings Bank.He was made a director and cashier of the bank.He was a Scottish Rite Mason and a Noble of the Ancient Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine.In 1893 at Edgerton he married Hilda Peterson.They were blessed with five children;Esther,Ruth,Joyce,Arnold and Eldon.
