Description	:	Funeral services were held Saturday at the Nodawy Methodist Church for Charles Grant Everett, a pioneer resident of the Nodaway vicinity who died at his family home east of Nodaway on Tuesday, November 24, where he had lived fifty years. Pall bearers were E. E. Cramer, O. W. Starr, R. O. Simpson, F. P. Carothers, F. W. Schroeder, and F. L. Ross. Charles Grant Everett, son of Thomas and Malinda Everett was born in Edgar County, Illinois on July 15, 1864 and at the age of two years he moved with his family to Mound City, Missouri. Following the death of his father, Charles moved west and took up a homestead claim in Kansas. There he met Carrie Campbell and in 1889 they were married. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Nodaway, the former home of Mrs. Everett. Surviving are eight children, Albert T. and Franz F. Everett, Council Bluffs, Smith M. Everett, Venice, California, Paul M. Everett, Camp Young California, Clarence E. Everett with a bomber squadron, Mrs. Brown, Brooks, Iowa, Harold G. and James A. Everett, Nodaway, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild and the wide, Mrs. Carrie Everett. Mr. Everett was a member of the Nodaway Methodist Church and the Masonic order. Mrs. Everett’s brother, C. F. Cambell at Emmet, Idaho was in attendance at the funeral. Villisca Review, Thursday, December 3, 1942, page 5
