Campbell, for twenty years a resident of this county, near Sciola, died of heart trouble in Oakesdale, Washington, Tuesday morning. The body has been sent to this place and will arrive today, and the funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at half past two o'clock from the Christian church in this city. Mr. Campbell sold his farm near Sciola a little over two years ago and moved to Washington in order to be with his sons. He was a highly respected citizen of this county and his many friends will learn of his demise with regret. He was a good christian man, having united with the Baptist church a number of years ago, and always lived up faithfully to his christian vows. His wife passed on to her reward about five years ago, and he leaves especially to mourn his departure two sons and three daughters. The sons are Chas. and Perry of Oakesdale, Washington, the latter accompanying the remains to this city. The daughters are Mrs. Ida Bolt, who recently moved to Oakesdale, Mrs. Mollie Wheeler, also of that place, and Mrs. Louie Wheeler of Sciola. These sons and daughters are all known here, and are the recipients of the sympathy of all in this hour of their grief. -- published in the Villisca Review, Villisca, Montgomery, Iowa on 18 December 1903 ------------------------------ Charles H. Campbell, who died in Oakesdale, Washington, last Tuesday, and whose body was sent to this city for interment, was well and favourably known in this vicinity. The body was delayed, not arriving until Saturday and the funeral services were held from the Christian church Sunday afternoon at half past one o'clock, Rev. S.M. Perkins officiating. A large audience, consisting of nearly all the old settlers in this community, was present. Mr. Campbell was 70 years, 2 months and 27 days old at the time of his demise, having been born in Morgan county, Illinois, September 18, 1833. He was married to Emma Myers in 1859 and to this union eight children were born, five of whom survive.
