WHEELER HOME Chas. H. Campbell of Vulcan, Alberta, Canada died Wednesday morning, June 4, at about six o'clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. D.S. Wheeler, two miles north of Villisca, after a lingering illness from a complication of diseases. He was brought to the home of his sister from Rochester, Minnesota, May 12. Charlie Campbell was the son of Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Campbell, former residents here. He was born near Toledo, Illinois, November 10, 1878, and at the time of his death was forty-five years, six months and twenty-four days of age. He came with his parents to this county in 1879. He was married to Miss Edna Bolt of Sciola November 11, 1895, and to this union two sons were born. They are: Dale and Dean of Vulcan, Canada. Mr. Campbell and family left Sciola for Washington state, where they resided for nine years. They then moved to Vulcan, Alberta, Canada. April 17, 1919, Mr. and Mrs. Campbell and son Dean left for the Mayo Brothers hospital at Rochester, Minnesota, where he took treatments for three weeks. However, this gave him little relief, so he came to Iowa to spend his last days among his friends and relatives, who did all in their power to relieve his suffering. He had also spent the past winter in Portland, Oregon, and Palo Alto and San Francisco, California, for the benefit of his health. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, two sons, one brother, T.P. of Portland, Oregon, who returned to his home about two weeks ago after being here with his brother; sisters: Mrs. D.S. Wheeler of Villisca; Mrs. C.W. Bassett of Huxley, Canada. At Vulcan the deceased was one of the prosperous farmers, owning a large tract of land there. His host of friends in this community, and wherever he was known, will regret to learn of his death. The funeral services will be held this Friday afternoon at three o'clock at the Methodist church in this city. Rev. E.S. Menoher will be in charge.
