Burial is to be made in the Nelson cemetery (sic). He is survived by his wife, the former Edna Schleufer, two sons, three daughters, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Ritterbush of Nelson, and a sister, Mrs. Helen Petty of Superior. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, August 20, 1959 ================================ Charles Jacob Ritterbush, son of Charles E. and Maude E. Ritterbush, was born at Nelson, Nebr., Aug. 14, 1915. He departed this life on Aug. 19, 1959, at Brodstone Hospital, Superior, Nebr., at the age of 44 years and 4 days. He grew up on his parent's farm near Nelson and attended the Nelson schools, graduating from high school in 1933. He received the sacrament of Holy Baptism on April 28, 1928. In 1940 he received the rite of confirmation. At that time, he became a member of Centennial Lutheran Church, a membership which he maintained until his death. On January 27, 1935, he was united in marriage with Edna Schleufer of Nora, Nebr. Two sons and three daughters were born to this union. For the past 17 years his home has been in Superior, where he was first employed as a blacksmith and welder. Later, he operated his own shop until failing health forced him to retire. He was a lover of nature, spending all of his spare moments out of doors. His first concern was for his family. He was always mindful of their welfare. He leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Ritterbush of Nelson, one sister, Mrs. Helen Petty of Superior, his wife Edna, and his children, James and wife Janet of Superior; Harold, Carol, Eleanor and Sharon, still at home; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in the Megrue funeral chapel at Superior at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, with the Rev. Mr. Robert J. Leege of the Centennial Lutheran Church officiating.
