Description	:	Funeral services for Charles N. Neyens, 74, of Creighton were held on Monday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton. Father Ronald A. Battlato officiated with burial in the parish cemetery. Military honors were by VFW Post #1151 and American Legion Post #74. Charles Norbert Neyens, the son of John and Inez (Lyon) Neyens, was born January 12, 1912 at Creighton. He attended St. Ludger Academy and graduated in 1930. He served in Europe during WWII and married Ellen Kerrigan on April 8, 1948 at Omaha. Charlie had worked at Great Plains Supply co. and became manager, retiring in 1977. He was a member of VFW Post #1151 and American Legion Post #74 of Creighton and had held offices in both groups. He was active in American Legion baseball over 25 years and received the Ak-Sar-Ben Good Neighbor Award. He was a member of St. Ludger Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Ellen; one daughter, Mrs. Gene (Kathryn) Borgmann of Creighton; two grandchildren; one great granddaughter; one brother, Joe of Creighton and two sisters, Mrs. Lyle (Jennie) Green of North Platte and Ula Mae McManigal of Creighton.
