Rubush, 64, Succumbed to Eight Weeks Illness Saturday. LAST ‘RITES MONDAY Charles O. (Shine) Rubush one of the best liked men who ever held the throttle of an engine, died at his home in Frankfort Saturday morning at 3:45, death ending an illness of eight weeks during which time he had the services of some of the best specialists and physicians obtainable and had spent some time in the Clinton County hospital at Frankfort and later in a Lafayette hospital. His trouble, which involved the heart and other organs, could not be reached by treatment or an operation. Death occurred at the home in Frankfort. Funeral services are to be held at the late home in Frankfort Monday afternoon at 2:00 and internment will be in Fairview cemetery. The death of this practically life time resident is regretted by many. Born near Jackson, April 19, 1875, he was one of several children of George and Margaret (Snyder) Rubush and married to Miss Stella Bess of Tipton June 10th, 1899. The deceased entered the employ of the Lake Erie Railroad Company over 40 years ago and after a short period as a fireman was promoted to engineer and for years was one of the road's most trusted employees. A happy cheerful disposition he was popular with all and he was also a popular man with his superior officers. Surviving with the widow Mrs. Stella Bess Rubush are a daughter Mrs. Icle Pierce of Indianapolis and four sons, Donald and Lee of Frankfort and George and Lester of Tipton. Several grandchildren also survive. Other surviving realitives are two sisters, Mrs. Ed Westfall of Sharpsville and Mrs. Myrtle Adams of Kokomo and a brother Mark Rubush of Tipton, also survives. Ozoro D. Rubush whose death occurred at Liberty June 6, was a brother. "Shine" Rubush as he was known to all his friends, removed to Frankfort three years ago when the division was changed, but and kept in close touch with the old home town. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of this city. Friends are invited to call on the late home at any time. Charles and Stella lived at 857 East Clinton Street, Frankfort, Indiana for three years prior to his death. Prior to leaving Tipton, the couple resided at 201 N. Poplar Street, Tipton, Indiana. According to his WWI draft registration card, Charles was of medium height and build, had blue eyes and dark hair. He also had a crippled finger on his left hand.
