Stromquist who lives east of town, was walking on the street and he had his picket book taken from him with $4.01 in it by a suspicious young character named Stewart, who has been wandering around here for some time. Stewart was taken in charge by Chief of Police Thompson but emphatically declared he found the pocket book, but Thompson was satisfied that he nipped it. Strumquist Dies At His Home Saturday Morning" Carl O. Strumquist, more generally knows as "Charlie" Strumquist, died at his home here Saturday morning about 9:30, following a long illness. Heart trouble was the cause of his death. The Strumquist family came to this community a quarter-century ago and has lived here since. During the course of his residence here, Mr. Strumquist accumulated a large number of friends, who with the family mourn his passing. Carl Oscar Strumquist was born October 10, 1872 at Lyons, Burt County, Nebraska. He passed from this life May 8, 1937 at Creighton, Nebraska. His age at death was 64 years 6 months and 28 days. He grew to manhood in Burt County and it was there on December 22, 1894, that he was united in marriage to Miss Lydia Rinehart. To this union four children were born: 2 sons and 2 daughters. The sons preceded the father in death. One, Julius, died at age 6 before the family came to Knox County; the other son, Carl Henry, passed away two years ago last February. Mr. Strumquist and family came to Knox County in 1912 and made this his home since. He was baptized and a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lydia Strumquist; 2 daughters, Mrs. George Weber of Creighton and Mabel Louise Strumquist; one brother, John Strumquist of Lyons, Nebraska; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Petersen of Omaha, Nebraska; and 2 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church with Rev. Minar A. Gerrard officiating. Burial was at the Greenwood Cemetery.
