Description	:	Charles Robert Branek was born to Wilber and Margaret (Klein) Branek on February 2, 1937. Charles attended Clear Creek District #18 through eighth grade and graduated from Table Rock High School as a member of the class of 1954. After graduation he joined the United States Naval Reserve and served his country for eight years. Charles was united in marriage to Lois Plattner on June 2, 1962, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Steinauer. To this union five daughters were born: Brenda, Barbara, Benita, Briana, and Belinda. Charles attended Clear Creek District #18 through eighth grade and graduated from Table Rock High School as a member of the class of 1954. After graduation he joined the United States Naval Reserve and served his country for eight years. Charles was united in marriage to Lois Plattner on June 2, 1962, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Steinauer. To this union five daughters were born: Brenda, Barbara, Benita, Briana, and Belinda. Charles's passion was farming. He loved the land and his livestock and was very dedicated to both. Other joys for Charles included spending time with his five "gir-rls" and their families and visiting with his many friends. Charles passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012, at 75 years of age. Charles is survived by his daughters: Brenda Maher and husband Michael of Frederick, Maryland; Barbara Keegan and husband Jim of Hemingford, Nebraska; Benita Trump and husband Steve of Merriman, Nebraska; Briana Evans and husband Todd of Sabetha, Kansas; and Belinda Garten and husband Cody of Erie, Kansas, grandchildren, Gabriel, Eamon, Adan, Johnna, Cian, Killian, and Asha Maher; Taylor Keegan; Tyler, Cody, and Kally Trump; Kaleb and Kalvin Evans and Josey Garten, brother, Vernon Branek and wife Dorothy of Steinauer, sister, Marlene Durman and husband Dorwin of Beatrice, special friend, Evelyn Puhalla of Steinauer and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Wilber and Margaret; his wife Lois (October 2, 1986); grandson Blase Maher; and granddaughter Kylie Trump. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2012 at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Steinauer, Nebraska with Father Thomas Dunavan officiating. Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Rosary will be recited at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Steinauer, at 6:00 p.m. Thursday evening, September 20, 2012. Memorials may go to the family's choice. Interment will be in the St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, rural Steinauer, Nebraska. Online condolences may be left @ www.wherrymortuary.com.
