Description	:	CHARLES W. GLASGOW, Jr., age 78 years, a lifetime resident of Street, Maryland died on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born on January 9, 1928 in Street, he was the son of the late Ethel Amos and Charles W. Glasgow, Sr. Mr. Glasgow was educated in Harford County Public Schools having graduated from the former Highland High School in Street. After graduating, he farmed with his father on the family farm. GLASGOW, Jr., age 78 years, a lifetime resident of Street, Maryland died on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born on January 9, 1928 in Street, he was the son of the late Ethel Amos and Charles W. Glasgow, Sr. Mr. Glasgow was educated in Harford County Public Schools having graduated from the former Highland High School in Street. After graduating, he farmed with his father on the family farm. Upon his retirement, he was a gifted woodcrafter making furniture for family, friends, and for the public. In addition to his woodworking, he was a rural mail carrier for the Street Post Office. Mr. Glasgow was a lifetime member of Emory United Methodist Church in Street. He was a member and officer of many farm related organizations and boards. He was a past director and manager of D & D Cooperative Milk Hauling until the close of the business. He was a past president of D.H.I.A., member of Harford County Farm Bureau, Southern States Board of Directors, and was very involved with the agriculture youth program known as 4-H. There he served a leader for twenty years and was a member of the state of Maryland 4-H All Stars. His dairy related memberships also included the local, state, and national Holstein Association. He was a member of the barbershop quartet group known as the Bay Country Gentlemen. Mr. Glasgow is survived by: His wife of fifty-four years, Martha Harkins Glasgow. Although he had no children of his own, he was admired and adored by his thirteen nieces, eleven nephews, nineteen great nieces, twenty great nephews, eleven great-great nieces and eleven great-great nephews. Mr. Glasgow was preceded in death by his sister, Melva G. McElwain and a nephew, P. Richard Harkins. Friends may call on Friday, December 15th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16th at 11:00 AM at Emory United Methodist Church, 911 Cherry Hill Road, Street, Maryland. His pastor, Reverend Dr. Paul Benjamin along with Reverend Harold Hubble of Oak Grove Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in the adjoining Emory United Methodist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the following: Parkinson Research Foundation, 420 Beach Road, Suite 701, Sarasota, FL 34242 or Emory United Methodist Church, PO Box 94, Street, MD 21154 Pallbearers will be his nephews- John W. Harkins; Ronald N. Harkins; James M. Harkins; Edgar I. Harkins III; George W. Harkins; Charles D. Harkins; Kurt M. Zulauf, Robert Glasgow McElwain. Honorary pallbearers will be Gilbert Evans and James Nelson Amos.
