Law was born Nov. 8, 1866, in Carroll County Illinois and came to Iowa when a small child with his parents. He was married to Miss Emma Garrels at Rolfe Feb. 14, 1898. To this union were born eight children, five daughters, Mrs. Fred Nurse, Mallard, Mrs. Hugh Dunn, West Bend, Mrs. John Vander Wall, Woodridge N.J., Mrs. Henry Wolfe and Mrs. Orvil Hagen of Fairmont, Minn., and three sons, Marion Frederick and Charles of Hollandale, Minn. Mr. Law was one of a family of 22, of whom five sisters and eight brothers survive. One sister, Mrs. Emma Brewster of Minneapolis, and three brothers, Matt, John, and Elijah, were present at the funeral. Mr. Law resided in Mallard vicinity until 17 years ago when he moved with his family to Hollandale. He became ill two weeks ago with pneumonia and was taken to a hospital in Albert Lea where he passed away Tuesday morning Feb. 7th. The funeral was postponed from Friday on account of drifted roads. The body was brought to Mallard Sunday and services were held at 2 o'clock at the M.E. church by Rev. McDowell of West Bend. Burial was in Ellington Cemetery. The pallbearers were one grandson, Dale Dunn, West Bend, and five nephews, Clinton Mardick, Armstrong, Leonard Lowe, Ayrshire, Raymond Lowe, West Bend, Elsmer Lowe, Mallard and Eugene Lowe, Bancroft. Mr. Law was a kind, loving husband and father, of a gentle disposition, generous and liberal to everyone. His many kind deeds will long be remembered by his many relatives and friends. Deep sympathy is extended to the bereaved widow and children.
