Pallbearers were six relatives, Claire Enge, Don Allen, Glen Goddard, Bill Pardee, Edward and Richard Law. Born in Illinois on Sept. 25, 1877, Emma D. Garrels was the daughter of Fred and Christen Garrels. She married Charles Wesly Law in Rolfe on Feb 14, 1898. Eight children, all of whom survive, were born to this marriage. The Laws spent the early part of their married life in Palo Alto and Pocahontas counties and then moved to Minnesota. Mrs. Law lived there until her husband's death several years ago. During the past few years, she had made her home with her children. Three months ago she came to Emmetsburg from Mallard to visit her son Charles Law. She became ill with a heart congestion four weeks ago and entered the local hospital Nov. 9. She had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances in this county who will learn of her death with regret. Mrs. Law was a member of the Church of Christ of Albert Lea, MN. Surviving are her chilren, Mrs. Fred (Mayme) Nurse, Mallard; Mrs. Hugh (Mabel) Dunn, West Bend; Mrs. John (Sadie) VanderWall, Montvale NJ; Marion Law, Dover MN; Mrs. Henry (Hazel) Wolff, Albert Lea MN; Fred Law, Millville, MN; Mrs. Orville (Eleanor) Hagen, Fairmont MN; and Charles Law, Emmetsburg IA. Also surviving are two sisters, 26 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. #####ALSO##### Ex-Resident of Hollandale Buried in Iowa Mrs. Emma D. Law, 73, former resident of Hollandale, was buried Monday at the Methodist Church in Mallard, Iowa, after a three-week illness. She lived with her husband, Charles W. Law, from 1928 until his death in 1939. She was born Sept. 24, 1877, at Minnok, ILL, to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Garrels. During the early part of her life, she lived in Pocahontas and Palo Alto counties in Iowa. While in Hollandale, she was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include five daughters: Mrs. Hazel Wolff, Albert Lea, Mrs. Fred Nurse, Mallard, Mrs. Hugh Dunn, West Bend, Iowa; Mrs. John VanderWall, Montvale NJ; and Mrs. Orvil Hagen, Fairmont; three sons, Marion, Dover; Fred, Millville, and Charles, Emmetsburg; 26 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren a sister and several nieces and nephews.
