Description	:	CHARLES WILLIAM STALDER Charles William Stalder, oldest child of Oscar and Lulu Bowers Stalder was born January 21, 1905. He passed away April 12, 1977 at Rosary Hospital in Corning, at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 22 days. Charles was born in Adams County and spent majority of his life in this area. Read More	CHARLES WILLIAM STALDER Charles William Stalder, oldest child of Oscar and Lulu Bowers Stalder was born January 21, 1905. He passed away April 12, 1977 at Rosary Hospital in Corning, at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 22 days. Charles was born in Adams County and spent majority of his life in this area. On January 29.1931, he was married to Esthelene Beezley and they lived most of their married life at their present home in Brooks. In his younger days he was employed as a carpenter and then as a section hand for the Burlington RR for approximately 25 years. After retiring from the railroad he kept himself busy with part-time employment working with his friends and neighbors, and gardening. He took great pride in bis garden and thoroughly enjoyed sharing the fruits of the harvest with his family and friends. Chuck, as he was known by his friends, was always around to lend a helping hand. An important part of his life was participating in community events. He was ever present with a willing hand at all functions at the Brooks Community Hall. He is survived by bis devoted wife, Esthelene; four sisters. Ruby Greenfield of Villisca, Esther Anderson of Tarkio, Mo., Ruth Lampe of Winterset and Marie Pullen of Lakewood, Colo.; two brothers. Dale of Nodaway and Harold of Downington. Pa., other family members and friends. He will be keenly missed by all who knew him and especially by his many "little friends" upon whom he bestowed much attention. Funeral services were held at the Larkin-Roland Funeral Home in Corning April 15 at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. James W. King and Rev. Ray Thompson officiating. Interment was in Methodist Grove Cemetery, Corning. Music was furnished by Erma Fuller, organist and Marie West, vocalist Pallbearers were Max Downard, Lloyd Leonard. Jack Morrison, Dean Firkins, Don Mercer and Gary Leusink. Honorary bearers were Henry Heaton, Gail Ogburn, James Crawford, Don Perrin, Darrel Ogburn and Bill Milgrove. Flower bearers were Doris Heaton, Daisy Brown, Mary Morrison and Marge Downard. Information found in the Adams County Free Press, April 21, 1977
