Description	:	Funeral services for Charles W. Shomo, retired Junior businessman, will be held at the Junior Methodist church at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Shomo, who was 77 years of age, died in an Elkins hospital at 11 o'clock Saturday morning. He had been till for 10 months. Mr. Shomo had long been prominent in public and business affairs in Junior. He had served the town for five terms as mayor, as a member of the municipal council and a recorder. Mr. Shomo, who was 77 years of age, died in an Elkins hospital at 11 o'clock Saturday morning. He had been till for 10 months. Mr. Shomo had long been prominent in public and business affairs in Junior. He had served the town for five terms as mayor, as a member of the municipal council and a recorder. A former merchant, he engaged in the mercantile business for some years and in 1917 was one of the organizers of the Merchants and Miners Bank of Junior which was voluntarily liquidated in 1938. He was cashier of the bank for a number of years. Mr. Shomo was a charter member of the Junior Knights of Pythias lodge and was a member of the Methodist church. Mr. Shomo was a Republican, a teacher, having been educated in the common schools. He had a library of 400 volumes and was considered a careful reader. He was born in Junior, October 13, 1873, a son of George Nixon and Eliza Virginia Viquesney Shomo. He is survived by his wife, the former Maude M. Elbon whom he married May 31, 1896; four brothers, William R. Shomo of Junior, Benjamin "Frank" Shomo of Elkins, George W. Shomo of Volga, and Eugene Shomo of Galloway; two sisters, Monte V. Montgomery and Cora M. Bibey of Junior. Mr. Shomo was preceded in death by his only child, a daughter, Hazel Beatrice Shomo; two sisters, Goldie M. Shomo Montgomery and Carrie B. Shomo Bennett. Friends may call at the home after 6 pm today. The remains will be removed to the church at 3pm Tuesday to lie in state until the hour of the funeral service which will be conducted by the Reverend Richard Gibson with interment at the Fraternal Cemetery in Belington.
