He was born April 21, 1886 in Junior, West Virginia, a son of George Nixon and Eliza Virginia Viquesney Shomo. He was born April 21, 1886 in Junior, West Virginia, a son of George Nixon and Eliza Virginia Viquesney Shomo. On April 14, 1906, in Stringtown, Barbour County, he married Stella Cross who preceded him in death 26 years ago in 1928. He is survived by two sons, Goff Shomo and Leslie Shomo, both of Flemington; two daughters, Mrs. Vernie Phelps of Flemington and Mrs. Mittie S. Smith of Brown, West Virginia; three brothers, William R. Shomo of Junior, George W. Shomo of Volga, West Virginia, and Benjamin F. Shomo of Elkins, West Virginia; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Bibley and Mrs. Monta Montgomery of Junior; and ten grandchildren. In addition to Stella, his wife, Eugene was preceded in death by a son, Winslow Shomo (1907-1908), daughter, Virginia (1910-1911), and his unnamed son (1912-1912). The three children were buried at the K & P Cemetery in Junior, West Virginia. Their graves are unmarked. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles W. Shomo and sister, Carrie B. Shomo Bennett. He was a member of the Junior Methodist Church and was a retired employee of the Mountain Fuel Coal Company. Friends will be received at the Runner Funeral Home in Belington until 12 o'clock noon Thursday when the body will be removed to the Methodist Church in Junior to lie in state until the funeral hour at 2 p.m. The Reverend R. S. Gibson, Methodist minister of Junior, will conduct the service and interment will follow in the K. of P. cemetery at Junior. Runner Funeral Home of Belington in charge.
