Announcement of funeral later. -- Morning Oregonian, January 16, 1917 Marshal Stevens' Mother Buried Today - Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte Stevens, mother of Fire Marshal Jay Stevens, will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Holman chapel. The body will be taken to Weston, Neb., for burial. The body was taken to Weston, Neb., for burial. Mrs. Stevens died January 13. She was the mother of Fire Marshal Jay Stevens, of Portland; Lieutenant Gilbert W. Stevens, of Battery A, Oregon Field Artillery; Mrs. Lilly Henderson, Broken Bow, Neb., and J. C. Stevens, of Culver, Or. Funeral services were conducted by Minerva Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. The body was taken East by H. C. Stevens, husband of the deceased. Mrs. Stevens had lived in Oregon 11 years.
