Description	:	Charlotte Lou Hysell, age 78, passed away, surrounded by her family, on June 2, 2014 at Mitchell Village Care Center. Charlotte was born July 21, 1935, in Promise City, Iowa, the daughter of the late C.W. Vanderlinden and Ruth LaRue Beggs. In 1953, Charlotte married Elmer Delano Hysell, and after living in several places the couple settled down in Colfax, Iowa where they raised their six children. Read More	Charlotte Lou Hysell, age 78, passed away, surrounded by her family, on June 2, 2014 at Mitchell Village Care Center. Charlotte was born July 21, 1935, in Promise City, Iowa, the daughter of the late C.W. Vanderlinden and Ruth LaRue Beggs. In 1953, Charlotte married Elmer Delano Hysell, and after living in several places the couple settled down in Colfax, Iowa where they raised their six children. In addition to raising her family Charlotte worked for over 15 years at the Colfax Senior Citizens Center as the head cook. Charlotte was also an active member of the Hickman Church of Christ. Charlotte enjoyed life and had many passions, but she was in particular known for her baking expertise and her finely honed sewing skills. She put her many talents to use, surrounding her family with love in the form of homemade foods, handmade comforts, and her own hugs and kisses. Charlotte is survived by her husband Elmer; children, Terry (Monica) Hysell, Barb (Steve) South, Gary (Kim) Hysell, Deb (Mark) McGee, and Brenda Hysell; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Hysell; grandchildren, Libby (Chris) Carlton, Samantha (Bill) Webb, Danelle (Aaron) Russ, Ashley (Jeff) Millet, Cassie Hysell (Tyler DeMoss), Heather (Blake) Dilks, Meredith South, Nick McGee (Michelle Lopez), Matthew South, Andy McGee (Leah Baugh), Brittany Harmison (Preston Wilson), and Colton Harmison; great grandchildren, Ellie, Caleb, Jax, Kiera, Devin, Zaylor, Korbyn, Django, Charlie, Evelyn, and Vivian, as well as a number of other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents C.W. and Ruth, her sisters Jean and JoAnn, her brother Bill, and her son Michael Hysell. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 4:00 p.m. at the Hickman Road Church of Christ in Des Moines, with a meal to follow. Burial will take place at Colfax Cemetery at a later date.
