All that kind hands and the best medical skill could do was unavailing. She was called home after a short but painful illness. Charlotte Varguson was born in Massac county, Ill., in 1861 and moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Redding, to Kansas about 1871, settling in Fountain township where they resided in this section of country ever since. She was married to Mr. David Varguson on April 12, 1883. Her husband and six children, one boy and five girls survive her. She lived a consistent Christian life, was a dutiful wife and loving mother. Her funeral services were conducted by Rev. Dorst, pastor of the Baptist church of which she was a member, and her remains were laid to rest in Fairview cemetery, there to await the sound of the last trumpet, when it is to be hoped she will be happily reunited with her family never more to part. A large congregation of mourning friends attended the last imposing ceremonies for the dead. This opportunity is taken by the mourning family to thank their many friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted through the last illness and death of dear wife and mother. We extend our sincere sympathies to the bereaved family.
