Description	:	Chester Arthur Roberts, son of Edward and Anna Roberts, was born in Springfield, Indiana, on Jan. 14, 1881. He with his six sisters and brother grew to manhood in and near the home of his childhood, in fact, all of his life has been spent in Springfield township. On December 3, 1903, he was united in marriage to Delora Rogers. To this union was born two children. Alfred and little Aleta Marie, who passed away June 25, 1909. Read More	Chester Arthur Roberts, son of Edward and Anna Roberts, was born in Springfield, Indiana, on Jan. 14, 1881. He with his six sisters and brother grew to manhood in and near the home of his childhood, in fact, all of his life has been spent in Springfield township. On December 3, 1903, he was united in marriage to Delora Rogers. To this union was born two children. Alfred and little Aleta Marie, who passed away June 25, 1909. After a short and happy wedded life the wife died, June 17, 1914. Feeling the need of companionship, he married Leota Colesrate on April 24. 1915. One daughter. Norma, came to bless this home and in a few short montns the mother passed away, August 20, 1916. In another effort to establish a home, he married Evelyn Burgess on October 2, 1920. Industry marked his every action, as he labored incessantly for his family and others. His work was always for the betterment of living conditions and his labors stand as silent testimonies to his honesty and work well done. He took an active interest in the school, havine conveyed the children there for several years. He was very fond of his family and relatives and did all he could for their enjoyment and benefit. He was a member of the I. O. O. F., Scipio Lodge No. 509, and the Encampment of Brookville, Indiana. He has been sorely afflicted the past several months and feeling that a brief change of climate might allay his sufferings for awhile, he with others started on a trip west. In a short time word was received he had passed away at Hugo, Colorado, early on August 10, 1930, at the age of 49 years, 6 months and 27 days. He leaves to mourn their loss a father, mother, wife, one son Alfred and daughter Norma, daughter-in-law Dorothy, father-in-law William Burgess, three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Cormican, Mrs. Ethel Beckett and Mrs. Ruth Hicks, and one brother, Frank, (three sisters, Mamie, Grace and Blanche having preceded him in death) and many other relatives and friends. "The loving- brother, husband and father died where manhood's morning almost touches noon, and while the shadows still were falling toward the west. He had not passed on life's highway the stone that marks its highest point, but being weary for a moment, fell into that dreamless sleep that kisses down his eyelids still. While yet in love with life, he passed to silence and pathetic dust. Yet after all, it may be best - while on the sunny side of life, before life wearies on one's hands and old age numbs the senses, to leave the task when others might go on. To those who know him best, he ever shall live on."
