He was born July 9, 1940, in Ottumwa to Chester and Virginia Greiner McKim Sr. He married Peggy Louise Robertson May 20, 1961. Chet served in the Marine Corp. He worked for Dexter Foundry for over 25 years. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Green Bay Packers and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. Pleasant and Carl and Susie Chandler of Pleasant Plain; 14 grandchildren, Tricia and Scott, Crystal and Royce, Jamie, Julie, Chester IV, Ashley and Mike, Cecily, Rick and Christine, Charli, Derrikk, Jordan, Jack Jr., Cody and Clayton; four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Cassidy, Izayah and Makenzie; a brother, Marion "Butch" and Robin McKim of Waukee; two sisters, Vickie and Mike Fisher of Bloomfield and Pat and Judy Woodard of Junction City, Kan. He was preceded in death by a son, Rick McKim; his parents; and a brother, Jackie McKim. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home; Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery with military services conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post No. 775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post No. 3 American Legion.
