Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Chloe Williams were held on Monday October 17, 1960 at 2:30 p.m. from the Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alvin Sigafus officiating. Pall bearers were David Williams, C. L. Poston, Jim Williams, Robert Williams, Paul Williams, and Wallace Williams. Flower bearers were Mrs. Lorraine Muller and Mrs. Grace Muller, and music was by Mrs. Frances Wheeler. Concluding service and interment was in Villisca Cemetery with Sutphen Funeral Home in charge. Chloe White Williams was born near Palmyra, Nebraska on December 9, 1880, the third of four children born to James and Ruth Caldwell White. She taught school in Missouri before she came to Villisca to make her home with her sister, mrs. H. E. Robinson. On April 18, 1906, she was married to Dr. Frank S. Williams. After their marriage they came to their home at 125 West High Street, where they lived the rest of their lives. Two daughters Lillian and Florence were born to them. Mrs.William was active in the Presbyterian Church until failing health kept her home the last few years. For seventeen years she gave her loyal devotion to work in the Junior department of the Sunday School. She served as treasurer of the Women’s association for twenty-five years and was given an honorary membership by the Board of Christian Education. She was a member of the P. E. O. Sisterhood Chapter CII. Dr. and Mrs. Williams celebrated their golden anniversary in 1956. Dr. Williams preceded her in death on July 25, 1958. After several years of decline health, Mrs. Williams passed away at the Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa, October 14, 1960. She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Michael W. Hourigan of Des Moines, Iowa and Mrs. F. P. Burns of Amarillo, Texas, two grandchildren, Mary and Michael Burns, and a sister, Mrs. H. E. Robinson, of Des Moines.
