Chris Eugene Nystrup was born August 30, 1951 in Akron, Iowa, the son of Tommy and Irene (Ostermeyer) Nystrup. He grew up on a farm south of Akron and attended school in Westfield. He graduated from Westfield High School in 1969. Following his schooling, he farmed near Akron. He was united in marriage to Nancy Taylor on February 4, 1978 in Akron. They made their home on a farm south Akron, raising livestock and growing crops. Farming was his passion, something he was involved with his entire life. Through the years, he enjoyed traveling, hunting, and fishing in Canada. He was a member of the Akron Sportsman's Club for many years. Survivors include his wife of over 37 years, Nancy of Akron; a son: Tom (Mackenzie) Nystrup of Ames, IA and their family, Emmett and Natalia; a son: Daryl Nystrup (Laura Lane) of Yankton, SD, and their family, Cody, Lacey, Lanae, and Lanna; a son: Jorgen Nystrup of Ames, IA; a sister: April (Alan) Sommervold of Akron; and numerous nieces and nephews.
