She was born March 30, 1913 at rural Diller, Nebraska and was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Diller, Nebraska. She graduated from Diller High School. She married Herbert C. Wasserman on July 1, 1934 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Diller, Nebraska. They lived in Wymore for 26 years before moving to Beatrice in 1963. She was born March 30, 1913 at rural Diller, Nebraska and was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Diller, Nebraska. She graduated from Diller High School. She married Herbert C. Wasserman on July 1, 1934 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Diller, Nebraska. They lived in Wymore for 26 years before moving to Beatrice in 1963. She worked at Marshall Produce in Wymore for 16 years and was then employed at the Beatrice State Developmental Center as a cook for 15 years, retiring in 1978. She is a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Diller, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Wymore and was currently a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Beatrice where she was a member of the Lutheran Women Missionary League. She enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, flowers and cooking. Survivors include two daughters, Marian Niday of Beatrice, Nebraska and Linda Pethoud and her husband Ron of Harlan, Iowa. Two sons, Dennis Wasserman and his wife Betty of El Reno, Oklahoma and Leo Wasserman and his wife Bonnie of Byers, Colorado. Two daughters-in-law, Wilma Wasserman of Claremore, Oklahoma and Sandy Wasserman of Blue Springs, Nebraska. 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Five sisters-in-law, Winona Lottman, Erna Lottman, Johanna Lottman and Sophie Weber all of Beatrice, Nebraska and Stella Henrichs of Marysville, Kansas. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Gesina DeVries Lottman, her husband Herbert who died on July 13, 1993, two sons Lyle and Leon Wasserman, two great-great-grandchildren, four brothers Fritz, Theodore, Robert and Harry and six sisters Folena Sasse, Anna Gebhardt, Grace Baumfalk, Katherine Koch, Gertrude Todd and Cena Wasserman. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice with Pastor Douglas D. Irmer and Pastor Timothy W. Wagner officiating. Burial will be at 12:30 P.M. at the Prairie Home Cemetery of Diller, Nebraska. A family prayer service will be held Wednesday at 9:45 A.M. in the basement of the church. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice with Wilbur and Bonnie Oestreich in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday evening and then at the church one hour preceding the service on Wednesday. A guestbook for signatures and messages of condolence is also available online at www.foxfuneralhome.net.
