The father, James Endsley was born on the 23rd of March, 1806, the son of John 1776-1835 & Jane [Blaine] Endsley. James died on the 16th of December, 1895 in Coshocton County, Ohio. His first marriage was to Christina "Crissie" Baker, who was born on the 9th of January, 1807, and died on her birthday, the 9th of January, 1844, in Coshocton County, Ohio. Endsley was born on the 31st of July, 1847 in Clark Township, Coshocton County, Ohio, the daughter of James & Mariah Karr [Gillespie] Endsley. The father, James Endsley was born on the 23rd of March, 1806, the son of John 1776-1835 & Jane [Blaine] Endsley. James died on the 16th of December, 1895 in Coshocton County, Ohio. His first marriage was to Christina "Crissie" Baker, who was born on the 9th of January, 1807, and died on her birthday, the 9th of January, 1844, in Coshocton County, Ohio. James & Christina had six children; Zachariah Endsley, born 1 March, 1830, died young, 11 May, 1831; Jane Endsley, born 1831, died 6 April, 1847; Susanna "Susan" Endsley, born 1 March, 1833, died 11 June, 1908, married Malcolm Reed & had 4 children; John Endsley, born 1834, died 18 years old, on 6 February, 1852; Cassander "Cassie" Endsley, born 1836, died around 1882, married Isaac M. Shannon 1833-1902; Delila Endsley, born 25 February, 1837, died 6 January, 1919, married Thomas Shannon 1832-1903, they had six children; and Mary Endsley, born about 1840, married John Darr. After Crissie death in 1844, James Endsley married his second wife, Mariah [Gillespie] Karr, the widow of John Welch Karr 1803-1941. Mariah Gillespie was born on the 30th of November, 1808, in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Thomas Jr. & Jane [Love] Gillespie. She died on the 7th of February, 1893, in Coshocton County, Ohio. She married first John Welch Karr, 11 September, 1828, in Ohio. They had seven children. After John's death in 1841 she married James Endsley on February 26, 1845 in Ohio. They had seven more children; James H. Endsley, born 1845, died 18 January, 1852; Christina M. "Crissie" Endsley, born 31 July, 1847, died 28 October, 1927, married Isaac M. Shannon 1833-1902, had seven children; Joseph A. Endsley, born 19 March, 1849, was thrown from a horse and died 18 May, 1862, 13 years old; Marshall B. Endsley, born 30 April, 1852, died 17 December, 1912, married Elizabeth M. Dudgeon 1856-1911, had three children; and Nathan Endsley, born 20 December, 1855, died 17 April, 1932, married Jane. PA, PA "DEATH TAKES MRS. CHRISSIE SHANNON AT HOME IN AKRON ~ Mrs. Christina Endsley Shannon, 80, former resident of this city and of the Keene community, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R.L. Trego, in Akron Friday afternoon at 3:30 from heart failure. Two weeks ago she sustained a fractured wrist and bruises of a fall, but was apparently convalescing when a heart attack brought the end. Chrissie Endsley was born July 31, 1847 in Clark tp. where she grew into womanhood. In 1886 she was married to Isaac M. Shannon of Clark twp., where the family resided until 1901 when they moved to this city. Mr. Shannon died in 1902. After his death Mrs. Shannon made her home with her children, moving to Akron with her daughter, Mrs. Trego about 12 years ago. Three children were born to Mr. & Mrs. Shannon, Mrs. Trego, a son Carl, who died about two years ago, and another daughter, Mrs. J.W. Stanford of Kenmore. Mrs. Shannon was one of a family of five, the only living one of which is a brother, Nathan S Endsley of Keene. A brother Marshall Endsley died a number of years ago, another brother in early youth and a fourth brother in infancy. She is also survived by eight grandchildren. Mrs. Shannon was a lifelong Presbyterian. In early youth she she united with the Keene Presbyterian Church at Bloomfield. Upon moving to Coshocton, she transferred her membership to the local Presbyterian Church. Short funeral services were to be conducted in the Trego home in Akron, after which the body will be brought to Keene for the main service to be conducted in the Keene Presbyterian Church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock by Rev. George P Stewart, pastor of the church. Burial will be made in the Keene Presbyterian Cemetery." ~ Source: Coshocton Tribune (Coshocton, Ohio) Sat.
