Obituary Mrs. Christine Svendsen Pueppke was born May 23, 1878, in Sandvervision, Denmark, to Mr. and Mrs. Nels Peter Svendsen, and passed away at her home in Lyons April 9, 1950, at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 16 days. She had been in failing health for twenty years and bedfast for the past two months, during which time she was tenderly card for by members of her immediate family. Mrs. Pueppke made her home in Denmark until 23 years of age when she and her brother, Andrew Svendsen, came to the United States to join their brother, Sven Svendsen, who preceded them in their journey two years previously, and they settled in Burt county. She was employed in the home of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Piper in Lyons for some time and later moved to Uehling. While in Uehling she was united in marriage to Albert Pueppke on March 28, 1907, at Fremont, Nebraska. To this union was born nine children, six sons and three daughters. Mrs. Pueppke was confirmed in the Lutheran church in Denmark at the age of 14 years, and while residing at Uehling she joined the Swaburg Lutheran Church. With the exception of nine years spent in South Dakota the deceased spent the past 48 years of her life in Lyons and Uehling. She was of a loving and cheerful disposition and despite her affliction was a devoted mother and was never happier than when her family was with her. She would always find time to do little deeds of kindness for her friends and neighbors by gifting them with crochet work. She was preceded in death several years ago by her husband and one son, Albert. She leaves to mourn her death five sons, Ben and Anton, Sioux City, Ia., William, Cook, Nebr.; Fred and Roy at Lyons; three daughters, Mrs. Lora Tryon, Gravette, Arkansas; Mrs. Ella Uehling, Macy; Mrs. Edna Freeman, Tacoma Washington; three brothers and two sisters in Denmark; two brothers Sven and Andres Svendsen of Lyons; ten grandchildren and several nieeces and nephews.hhw
