Tyler Buried Monday Afternoon Mr. Christopher Columbus Tyler, a lifelong resident of Crisfield, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emory Ford on Chesapeake Avenue Friday evening of last week, after a lingering illness. He was 69 years of age, and had recently observe his birthday. Mr. Tyler was born in Crisfield, the son of the late William and Sarah Lawson Tyler. For most of his life he was a waterman, and was esteemed and respected by his fellow workers and all others who knew him for the fine qualities which he possessed. He had been incapacitated by illness for about ten years, but before that time, he had been a helpful and considerate neighbor and friend, always ready to ease the burdens of life for his fellow man. He was a Christian gentleman, with high ideals and his many friends sincerely mourn his passing. His body reposed at the Bradshaw Funeral Parlors until Monday afternoon when funeral services were held in the Pilgrim Holiness Tabernacle in Lawsonia, conducted by Rev. Louetta Holden and Rev. Nellie Holden. Interment was in Asbury cemetery. Bearers were Olin Bedsworth, Sr., Emory Ford, Ewell Daugherty, Goodwin Moore, Willie Ford and Claude Crockett. He is survived by four children, James and Alton Tyler and Mrs. Olin (Addie) Bedsworth and Mrs. Emory (May) ford, one sister, Mrs. Hattie Tyler, and two brothers, Alex Tyler of Rock Hall, Md., and William Tyler of Crisfield.
