Description	:	Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 25 at 10:30 a.m. in Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare, for Christ Thomas Staael, age 68, who died on Thursday, Oct. 21st. During the services, Rev. Donald Burton officiated, Mrs. Irene Gravesen was organist and music was provided by John Mogren, Jim Rehak and the congregation. Pallbearers were Joe Staael, Rudy Staael, Gaylen Staael, James Smith, Lloyd Clock, and Jim Rehak. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery with Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Staael was born July 20, 1914 on the family farm near Kenmare, and was reared in that area. He graduated from Tolley High School in 1932, and later worked for the Civil Conservation Corps. He worked on several wildlife projects in the Turtle Mountains and in Arkansas before returning to the Kenmare area, where he farmed. He married LaVern Roberg March 4, 1948, at Minot. They continued to farm in the Kenmare area until her death on March 26, 1976. Later that year he retired from farming. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Kenmare. Surviving: a son, Thomas, Minneapolis; daughters, Janet Staael and Jean Staael, both Minot; Mrs. Lloyd (Joyce) Clock, Watford City; and Jackie Staael, Kenmare; three grandchildren; brothers, Otto, Abel and Julius, all Kenmare; and a sister, Mrs. Mathilda Smith, Mohall.
