Description	:	Jess Otto Staael, age 85, of Kenmare, died June 19, 1989, at St. Joseph's Hospital of Minot. His funeral was held June 23rd, 1989, at the Trinity Lutheran Church of rural Kenmare. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Officiating for the service was Rev. Peter Coen-Tuff. Margrethe Nelson was the organist and Linda Freeman was the vocalist. Active casketbearers included Joel Staael, Gaylan Staael, Lloyd Norrie, Don Norrie, Budd Staael and Bud Ramsdell. In 1904, the family moved to a farm in Sauk Prairie Twp., east of Kenmare, and Jess attended schools in Greenbush, Baden and Sauk Prairie Twps. while farming with his family. Jess studied the blacksmith trade at the N.D. Agricultural College at Fargo and then worked at the Charlebois Shop in Minot for a time following school.
