Description	:	A joint funeral has been scheduled for Abel Staael, 76, his wife, Lorraine, 63, and their adopted son, Rudy, 20, all of Kenmare, who died Sunday of accidental asphyxiation due to a faulty furnace at their home. The service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Kenmare. Abel Staael was born March 15, 1906, in Baden Township, Ward County, and was reared in Sauk Prairie Township, Ward County. He served in the Army from 1942 to 1943, and in 1946, began farming in Sauk Prairie Township. He married Lorraine Eschenbaker July 13, 1962, at Sidney, Mont., and the couple had since lived northeast of Kenmare. Mr. Staael was a member of the Tolley American Legion Post and Trinity Lutheran Church, north of Kenmare. Surviving Abel Staael are brothers Jess, Kenmare, and Julius, Stanley; and a sister, Mrs. Mathilda Smith, Mohall. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare. From the scrapbook of Lillian Lundgren Zeltinger who passed away in 1997.
