Read More	Progress Review, La Porte City, Iowa Thursday, June 7, 1923, Page 1 By the death of Christopher Yarrow, who passed away at the family residence in this city Tuesday evening at 7:50, another well known and respected citizen has passed into the great beyond. For a number of years the deceased had been in failing health, but until a few weeks ago as able to be up town and mingle with his friends and acquaintances, and until Saturday of last week was able to be about the house and out in the yard. Sunday morning he became suddenly worse and failed rapidly until the end came Tuesday evening, death being due to the infirmities of old age. Christopher Yarrow was born at Roxham, Canada, Oct. 6, 1840, in 1864 he came to Iowa and located on a farm west of this city. In the year 1865 he returned to Canada and on Aug. 13 of that year was married to Miss Eliza Harper, and the young couple came back here to reside. To this union three children were born, all of whom are living--Mrs. Geo. Clark of this city, Mrs. Jeanie Foulk, of Los Angeles, Cal. and Geo. Yarrow, of Los Angeles, Cal. The first wife passed away more than fifty years ago. Mr. Yarrow was later married to Miss Rebecca Bravender, who also preceded him in death. The following children from the second marriage are living: Luke Yarrow, Los Angeles, California; Frank Yarrow, St. Louis, Missouri; John Yarrow, Atlanta, Georgia; Lloyd Yarrow, Los Angeles, California, Ralph Yarrow, Cherokee, Iowa; Mrs. Myrtle David, Frederick, Wis.; Mrs. Nellie Van Brocklin, Leavenworth, Wash. One son, Don, passed away a number of years ago. For several years past the deceased has been tenderly cared for by his daughter, Mrs. Geo. Clark, who at all times has devoted her time and done all in her power for the pleasure and comfort of her father. Funeral services will be held from the residence Sunday afternoon at two o’clock and will be conducted by Rev. G.E. Lusied, of the Methodist church. Interment will be at West View cemetery.
