Mr. Yarrow passed away January 8 at Schoitz Hospital. He was born June 8, 1894, a son of Christopher and Rebecca Yarrow at La Porte City. He was married to Mae I. Lee on July 8, 1922 at Sioux City, Iowa, who survives. In the past he had farmed at Lewis, Wisconsin and Trade Lake, Wisconsin; was in the restaurant business at La Porte City, Cherokee, and Frederic, Wisconsin. He worked as a painter for several years in the La Porte City vicinity, and as a clerk in a local cigar store. He has been retired for the last several years. He was a life member of V.F.W., long-time member of the American Legion; past commander of V.F.W. Post 3983, serving at two different terms, and was All-State Post Commander honored by the department in 1959. He served over two years with the U.S. Navy during World War I. He is survived by his wife and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Davis, Frederic, Wis., and Mrs. Nell Van Brocklin, Levenworth, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents. Rev. Robert Ruppert officiated at the burial services. Interment was at West View Cemetery. Pallbearers were William O’Neill, Luther Thomas, Joseph Vopelak, Sumner Snell, Glen Bader, and Ralph Foss.
