McCarty, 96, Stanford, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Stanford with the Rev. Arne Magneson officiating. Burial will follow in the Stanford Cemetery. Born at Sun River, she attended schools in Neihart and Armington. In 1907, she married John L. [M] Lindsay at Belt. The couple lived on a ranch near Belt, in the Cora Creek area, until his death in 1916. In 1919 she married Monte McCarty at Raynesford. The McCartys owned and operated many other restaurants and cafés in Belt, Armington, Stanford and Raynesford over the years. Her husband died in 1957. She lived in Stanford until about four years ago, when she moved to Great Falls. Surviving are her daughters, Edna Grosskopf, Stanford, and Garnet Mitchell, Corinth, Miss.; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
