Description	:	Clara "Leonore" Krupp was 100 years old when she passed away in Santa Cruz on Sunday, June 26. Clara Lenore Crooks was born in Three Rivers, Michigan on September 15, 1904. She was married to Benjamin Krupp in Grand Rapids, Michigan on June 30, 1923. In 1927, Lenore & Ben, their two preschool children, & 6 other family members traveled to Boulder Creek, CA to visit their Aunt Kate Holm. Read More	Clara "Leonore" Krupp was 100 years old when she passed away in Santa Cruz on Sunday, June 26. Clara Lenore Crooks was born in Three Rivers, Michigan on September 15, 1904. She was married to Benjamin Krupp in Grand Rapids, Michigan on June 30, 1923. In 1927, Lenore & Ben, their two preschool children, & 6 other family members traveled to Boulder Creek, CA to visit their Aunt Kate Holm. Little did they know, they would never return to Michigan to live. Ben soon found work in Santa Cruz, in the auto upholstery business, then joined the local police force. They bought their first home in 'rural' westside Santa Cruz and lived there more than 65 years. Lenore worked many years as a cashier at Landis & Touhy Market on Pacific Avenue until the 1955 flood closed the store. When Lenore and Ben retired, they set up an upholstery business in their garage. They also loved trailer traveling to see friends and relatives all over the United states. Lenore was a lifelong faithful servant of God. She was a member of Garfield Park Christian Church for over 70 years. She loved teaching children's Sunday School and singing in the choir. She was honored as a Deaconess Emeritus. She was the oldest member of her church family. Lenore is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bertier & Mac Reed of Brookings, OR; her faithful daughter-in-law, Elva Krupp of Santa Cruz, CA; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Lenore was preceded in death by her husband, Ben W. Krupp in 1988; by her son, Ben J. Krupp in 1986; and by a grandson, Mark Krupp in 1971. A visitation will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 from 2:00 - 7:00 PM at Oakwood Memorial Crystal Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Rd., Santa Cruz, CA, 95065. Service will be private for family only. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Garfield Park Christian Church Memorial Fund, 111 Errett Circle, Santa Cruz, CA 95060. All arrangements are entrusted to the care of Oakwood Memorial Chapel.
