At the age of twenty-two years she came to America with one of her brothers and settled in Illinois, where she became acquainted with Washington Cornell. They were united in marriage in the year 1874. Here they made their home until 1887 when they came to Nebraska, taking their present place as a homestead in 1894. At the age of twenty-two years she came to America with one of her brothers and settled in Illinois, where she became acquainted with Washington Cornell. They were united in marriage in the year 1874. Here they made their home until 1887 when they came to Nebraska, taking their present place as a homestead in 1894. She passed away quite suddenly Monday, January 7, 1924 being 76 years, 8 months and 12 days of age. The husband and father preceded her to the Great Beyond October 19, 1919 after a lingering illness of four years with paralysis. Deceased was a faithful wife and a devoted mother, a sincere Christian all her life. She was confirmed in the Swedish Lutheran church when a child. There are seven children, four boys and three girls, eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. All of them were present at the funeral except one grandson, Francis Cornell of Lincoln. The children are: Charles G. of Lincoln, Murray of Ord, William, Elmer, Mrs. Vanda Johnson, Mrs. Mary Johnson, and Mrs. Addie Clement, all of Parnell. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Primrose of Spalding, Wednesday, and interment was in the cemetery at Scotia.
