Jay Austin Colvin (1890-1963) [Jay had a daughter Janet Agnes Colvin (1920-1966), who was married to Norman Lloyd "Pete" Kettlewell Jr. (1919-1948, age 29). He is also buried in the Colvin Mausoleum, along with he and Janet's son Norman Lloyd "Ket" Kettlewell III (1944-1961, age 16). 2. Richard, born about 1900. 3. Willard, born about 1901. 4. Ruth, born about 1903. --------------------------- They lived at 5940 N. Sheridan Road, in Chicago, Illinois. --- Edwin and Clara Colvin purchased the "Coney Beach Hotel" at "Fuller's Clear Lake Resort", near Buchanan, Michigan, from Clara's brother Charles H. "Pete" Fuller. The hotel was later used as their "summer" home, and renamed the "Colvin Manor". ----------------------------- Edwin M. Colvin moved to Chicago in 1885, and worked in the printing industry, with the W. F. (William Franklin) Hall Printing Company. In 1908, Edwin M. Colvin and Robert M. Eastman purchased the W. F. Hall Printing Company upon the death of its founder. Edwin M. Colvin then became the Vice President of the company. The Hall Printing Company was once the largest, and one of the worlds leading printers of magazines and catalogs. During the 1920's it had about 2,000 employees. The main office building was located at 4600 West Diversey Street, in Chicago. (Edwin's death certificate states that he was then the President of the Hall Company). ____________________________ Note: The following information is courtesy of Robert D. "Pete" Fuller (1863-1947), was a longtime (abt. 1892-1947) proprietor of a resort at Clear Lake in Buchanan, Michigan, known as "Fuller's Clear Lake Resort". The Coney Beach Hotel at the Clear Lake Resort was (later) known as the "Colvin Manor", after Edwin and Clara Colvin bought the hotel from Clara's brother Charles H. "Pete" Fuller. It was in use as a hotel from the time it was built, presumably about (1892-1895), until 1912 (possibly longer). After that it was used as a summer home by Edwin and Clara Colvin, and then later as the main building at a succession of youth camps (now Life Action Ranch). In Chicago, Edwin M. and Clara Colvin lived at 5940 N. Sheridan Road, and that house was designated as a "Chicago Landmark" on October 5, 1994. It was built in 1909 and the architect was George W. Maher (who began his career working for Frank Lloyd Wright). __________________________________ Note. Baby Girl Kettlewell (no dates). 2. Norman Lloyd Kettlewell Jr. [This is the husband of Edwin and Clara's granddaughter Janet Agnes Colvin]. Norman Lloyd "Pete" Kettlewell Jr. (1919-1948) was the son of Norman Lloyd Kettlewell [Sr.] and his wife Bessie Ramser. 3. Norman Lloyd Kettlewell III (1944-1961). He was nicknamed "Ket", and he is the son of Edwin and Clara Colvin's granddaughter Janet Agnes Colvin and her husband Norman Lloyd "Pete" Kettlewell Jr. (See the memorials for the Kettlewell family, buried in Oak Ricge Cemetery). --------------------------- See the memorial for Clara's brother Charles H.
