Wilton, one of five children of Edwin & Margaret Wilton, was born July 12, 1920, at Guide Rock, Nebraska, and passed away March 12, 1981, at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior at the age of 60 years and 8 months. March 31, 1953, Clarence was baptised into Christian faith at Salem Lutheran Church by Pastor W.H. Hanselmann. March 31, 1953, Clarence was baptised into Christian faith at Salem Lutheran Church by Pastor W.H. Hanselmann. He confirmed his Christian faith April 5, 1953, at Salem Lutheran Church by Pastor Hanselmann. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Force at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, September 29, 1942. He was honorably discharged April 27, 1943. May 30, 1952, Clarence was united in marriage to Ruby Bargen at Salem Lutheran Church. They have made their home on a farm near Superior, where he has been engaged in farming. Clarence was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Superior, the American Legion, Elks, Eagles and V.F.W., all of Superior. He was preceded in death by both is parents, an infant son and a brother, Leroy. Survivors include his wife, Ruby; his children, Dennis of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Ronald of Edgar, Daryl of York and Mrs. Dale (Jan) Ekart of Imperial; 1 sister, Mrs. Eugene (Irene) Wood of Superior; 2 brothers, Melvin of Enid, Oklahoma, and Merle of Fair Oaks, California; 3 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many friends. Services were held Saturday, March 14, 1981, at 2 p.m. from Salem Lutheran Church, with Pastor David Miller officiating. Pallbearers were Ralph Wilton, Jess Petsch, Sanford Swanson, Don Shroyer, Leonard Wortman, Lawrence Sass, Bob Woerner and Lovel Wulf. "Beyond The Sunset" and "Abide With Me" were sung by Janell and Alfred Hanson, with Virginia Drohman as organist. "How Great Thou Art: was sung by the congregation.
