Description	:	Clarence Eugene Wells, 83, of Grand Island, formerly of Central City, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, at the Veterans Medical Center in Grand Island. Clarence was born Nov. 9, 1926, at Orange City, Iowa, to Earl S. and Sylvia J. (Rookstool) Wells. Survivors are: wife, Betty of Grand Island; children and their spouses, Judie Rhymer of Killeen, Texas, John A. and Rosemarie Wells of Trinidad, Colo., Barbara Horner of Temple, Texas; stepdaughter, Linda Urich of Grand Island; sister, Earlene Amundson and family of Elwood, Ill.; brother, Keith Wells and family of New Mexico and Florida; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and... Clarence was born Nov. 9, 1926, at Orange City, Iowa, to Earl S. and Sylvia J. (Rookstool) Wells. Survivors are: wife, Betty of Grand Island; children and their spouses, Judie Rhymer of Killeen, Texas, John A. and Rosemarie Wells of Trinidad, Colo., Barbara Horner of Temple, Texas; stepdaughter, Linda Urich of Grand Island; sister, Earlene Amundson and family of Elwood, Ill.; brother, Keith Wells and family of New Mexico and Florida; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Clarence lived in Sioux City, Iowa, and was employed by Swift Packing Company. He then lived in Nebraska, Colorado and Las Vegas, Nev., where he worked as a maintenance foreman. He served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. On Sept. 1, 1971, Clarence was united in marriage to Betty Jane Gibson in Kearney. They returned to live in Central City in 2000 and moved to Grand Island in 2007. Clarence was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Central City and the American Legion. He had remodeled every home that he and Betty lived in. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Esteven Trujillo. Published in The Grand Island Independent on 10/21/2010
