Description	:	Veteran of World War II Clarence Lee Zink, 81, died July 12, 1997, at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose Campus, Great Bend, Kansas. He was born May 16, 1916, in Salem, Indiana, the son of Lotus Oswald and Eithel (Cromer) Zink. A lifetime Larned area resident, he grew up on a farm in Pawnee County and worked for his father at Zink's Produce in Larned. Read More	Veteran of World War II Clarence Lee Zink, 81, died July 12, 1997, at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose Campus, Great Bend, Kansas. He was born May 16, 1916, in Salem, Indiana, the son of Lotus Oswald and Eithel (Cromer) Zink. A lifetime Larned area resident, he grew up on a farm in Pawnee County and worked for his father at Zink's Produce in Larned. He was drafted in the Army, 1st Cavalry in 1941, after time served in WWII, he resumed working at the families produce business. After the family business was sold he worked various jobs in the Larned area. He became a psyhciatric aide and worked for the Larned State Hospital for 12 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church, American Legion, and VFW, all of Larned, he also loved horses, baseball and football. On November 4, 1959 he married Venita May Clayton at Larned, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include: two sons, John Zink, Larned, Steve Zink, Kinsley; three daughters, Patricia Shoup, Wichita, Pamela Twitchell, Kim Teegerstrom, both of Larned; two sisters, Doris Clutter, Larned, Shirley Edwards, Plano, Texas; and twelve grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Lloyd. Funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Rev. Ken Beckner and Pastor David Spare presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned. Memorials may be sent to First Christian Church, Larned, in care of Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, Kansas 67550.
