Read More	Clarence Omer Hale was born January 19, 1873 in Hendricks County, Indiana. He passed away at his home in this city Dec. 13, 1930. His age was 57 years, 10 months and 24 days. With the family, he came to Craig, Nebr., at the age of eight years. The following year his father passed away leaving the mother and six children. Clarence was the oldest of the children. By reason of this fact, it was necessary for him to assume rather heavy responsibilities in connection with the maintenance of the family while he was still little more than a child. He grew to manhood in the vicinity of Craig. He was united in marriage at Sioux City, Iowa to Miss Edith M. Hancock of Craig, Nov. 20, 1892. Following their marriage, they continued to reside in Craig for one year, then they moved to a farm near McCook. At that place they made their home for twelve years. While living in McCook, he became interested in the implement business. This led him into an association with the International Harvester company which continued for nearly twenty five years. From McCook, he moved to Sprague where he lived for eight years. There he was engaged in the implement business. He moved to Lincoln and remained one year continuing in the same line of work. In January 1914, he came to Beatrice and became a member of the firm of Ellerbeck and Hale. His home was in this city continuously for the last seventeen years. During his early youth, he became a member of the Christian church at Craig. He held his membership in that congregation until his death. He was a member of the Masonic order in this city. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Edith M. Hale of Beatrice; his mother, Mrs. Catherine Jones of Craig; three children, Mrs. Viola Spellman of Lincoln, Clarence V. Hale of McCook, and Mrs. Grace Armstrong of St. Joseph, MO.; seven grandchildren; three brothers, E.E. Hale of Lyons, S.J. Hale of Wayne, and H.H. Hale of Ft. Collins, CO; and one half brother, Henry Jones of Craig. Mr. Hale never enjoyed the best of health. During the last six years his health failed slowly, but steadily. For the past two years of that period, his condition was very distressing most of the time. He was a most patient sufferer. He was always appreciative of the attentions that were shown him. He received the best care that could be provided by the family as well as by physicians during his illness. Mr. Hale will be sadly missed by a host of friends in this city and in other communities in which he lived. Those who knew him best were familiar the many good qualities of his life and character. The funeral service was held Dec. 15, in the First Christian Church. Rev. C.O. Stuckenbruck had charge. Music was furnished by a quartette composed of Miss Page Crawford, Miss Beulah Chinnock, Mr. V.R. Johnson and Mrs. W.E. Lenhart. The service was largely attended, The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Interment was in Evergreen Home cemetery the Masons had charge at the grave.
