Adopted father of Earl and Elva. Obit Edgar Hale Edgar Hale Rites Were Held Monday Funeral services for Edgar E. Hale, long-time resident of the Lyons community, were held Monday, November 25, from the Divide Center Presbyterian Church at 10 am with the Rev. Clayton Cook officiating. A trio composed of Mrs. Clayton Cook, Mrs. Dwain Heitshusen and Mrs. Delwin Rogers, sand "Nearer My God to Thee", accompanied by Mrs. Louis Jipp. Pallbearers were Dave Farber, Raymond Hale, William Gilbreath, William Drummond, Clarence Drummond and Lawrence Drummond Sr. Interment was in the Craig Cemetery with Piper Service in charge. Edgar Emins Hale was born April 1, 1875, in Indiana, to Amanda Catherine and Henry Bishop Hale. He departed this life on November 22, 1968, in Gering, at the age of 93 years, 7 months and 22 days. He was the second eldest of seven boys. At the age of eight, he moved with his parents to Burt County, where they homesteaded near Craig, He moved to the Divide Center community in 1909, where he was a faithful member of the church and recently received his fifty-year pin. Mr. Hale spent the last two years of his life at Belair Manor in Gering, thoroughly enjoying numerous flights with his grandson, Eugene, Brandt, and continuing his daily walks, a contributing factor to his continuous good health. Preceding him in death were his parents, five brothers, two wives and four children, (Doris) Mrs. Paul Larson, (Elva) Mrs. Burdette West, Cecil Hale and an infant son. Survivors include one brother, Harley of Fort Collins, Colo.; four daughters, (Ruth) Mrs. Melvin Brandt of Greeley, Colo., (Orpha) Mrs. Bernard Bowling of Campbell, Calif., (Hazel) Mrs. Paul Christensen of Fremont, (Evelyn) Mrs. Donald Gilbreath of Lyons; three sons, Floyd of Lyons, Earl of Blair, and Harold of Decatur; 31 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. He was a devoted father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him, "for to know him was to love him",
