Read More	Clarence Ray, son of Ella and Neal Peters, was born near Angus, Nebraska, November 24, 1900, and departed this life at the hospital in York, October 23, 1936, at the age of 35 years, 10 months and 30 days. He was united in marriage to Inez Bush June 12, 1920. To this union were born two sons, Lloyd Errol and Ray Eugene. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, two sons, father, mother, numerous relatives and friends. He was a devoted husband and father always willing and ready to help in any way to lighten the burden of his fellowmen. His cheery smile and hearty laugh won friends wherever he went, and he not only will be greatly missed in his home, but by friends and neighbors near and far. All of his life has been spent in this community, and when but seventeen years of age he united with the Christian Church at Angus, and remained a faithful Christian until the close of his lifetime, serving as deacon at the time of his demise. Clarence's sickness was of short duration. All was done that human hands could do, but "He that doeth all thing well" saw fit to call him to a better land. We will say with the poet Riley, "He is away, We cannot say and we will not say, that he is dead, he is just away. With a cheery smile, and a wave of the hand He has wandered into an unknown land. And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be, since he lingers there, And needs must be, since he lingers there, And you, O you, who the wildest yearn For the old-time step and the glad return, Think of him faring on, as dear In the love of There, as the love of Here. Funeral services were held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Christian Church at Angus, Rev. Wm. Etherton officiated. Interment was made in Nelson Cemetery. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, October 29, 1936; pg. 10 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A large coincourse of old friends and neighbors by their presence, bearing sympathy to the bereaved, and reverence to the departed. Burial was made in the Nelson Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ralph, Robert, Herbert, and Forest Peters, cousins of the deceased and Ivan King and Harry Jackson. Out of town relatives attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Bert Nickols, Mr. and Mrs. Dorr Nickols, Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wiggins Lincoln, the latter a sister of Mrs. Neal Peters, and her nieces: Mrs. Arthur Horn of Blackwell, Okla. and Mrs. Howard Hicks and husband, also of Blackwell, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Kelly, Mrs. Minnie Kelly, Waverly, Mrs. J. H. Littrel, Wauneta; Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Marshall Fairbury, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peters and son, Forest, Wauneta, Marie Steincamp and Dorothy Meyers, Omaha, the latter ,a sister of Mrs. Clarence Peters, Mrs. Nelson, son, James of Holdrege; Mr. and Mrs. Fuller of Hastings, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Littrel, Wauneta; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gerlach, Carleton; Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Calvin of Hebron and Mr. and Mrs. Loy Roscoe of Guide Rock.
