Read More	Cornelius Rudolph Peters was born in Clay County, near Clay Center, Nebraska, September 17, 1876 (sic). He passed away at a hospital in York May 15, 1939, at the age of 62 years, 7 months and 29 days. He was the son of Ferdinand and Carolyn Peters both of whom are deceased. Mr. Peters was married to Ella Rouse. To this union one son, Clarence, was born, who died in October, 1936. Mr. Peters was a farmer most of his life, living in Nuckolls County, near Angus, since early childhood. He was sheriff of this county for eight years, residing in Nelson during that time. After retiring, he and Mrs. Peters lived in Lincoln for two years moving from there to Edgar, where he resided until his death. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mrs. Ella Rouse, two grandsons, Floyd and Ray Peters of Angus, two brothers, Henry and Will Peters of Angus, a sister, Mrs. James Littrell of Angus, a half-brother, John Peters, and two half-sisters, Mrs. Emma Timbrook of Angus and Mrs. Sura Gimbel of Kansas City, Mo. The funeral services are to be held at the Christian Church in Edgar on Friday at two p.m., and burial in the Nelson Cemetery. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, May 18, 1939 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Note: The death date on the stone is 1938 and the birth year is different from obit. I'm not sure on birth year, but death date is 1939 as it was in the May 18, 1939 paper.
